Links to Good To Know Things

If there are things that are good to know, that help you grow up, and aren't we all still growing up? Please post a comment.

The Students and I will greatly appreciated it. If you want to be added as a contributor write that too and I will send an invitation.

On the 30th of June I will present as many of these tips as I can cram into 40 minutes and the rest of the 1.5 hours I want the students themsleves to post their own tips for their peers.

I am really courious about how this will play out.

Noble challenge you have here Mark, I've been thinking about it since I read your post on Future Salon.

My little sister is almost 12 at the moment so this is also something I think about on a personal level.

Let me ask you, is this directed towards the kids in terms of technology or in general?

I want to keep it general. Technology is only a means.

You've covered quite a large spread so far.

Not an easy task you have before you.

I added my 2 cents and did a trackback to the original Future Salon post, not sure if it's what you are looking for but I wrote down my thoughts anyway :-)

Hi Craig,

Not sure if the students understand trackbacks.

Here the link to your post:

As well as key messages:
- Never go to bed mad, talk about it first.
- Save for a rainy day because the rainy days come sooner and more often than you think.
- Always keep the lines of communication, even about the little things open.

Thanks, Mark.

John Abbe send me the following suggestions:

No matter what anyone tells you, you *always* have a choice about what to do. "Have to", "must", "can't", etc. are all shorthand for someone wanting or not wanting expected consequences.

If someone else (or you) does something that has you thinking they are inhuman/wrong/bad, assume there was a good reason and try to figure out what it might have been. You can appreciate the reason without liking what was done/said.

Life is not all about running around and doing. Things tend to go better and be more enjoyable when we take some time to sit quietly - our brains/souls thirst for enough spaciousness.

Life,
John
